
SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY
What is Spanish Honor Society? Spanish Honor Society is a club that aims to stimulate interest in Spanish.
Students from the Spanish Honor Society participate in organized Spanish relative activities. At the senior year, eligible Spanish Honor Society members are presented with a cord and seal at graduation.
What will Spanish Honor Society do for you? Spanish Honor Society will open you up to many new opportunities. Spanish Honor Society members will participate in Spanish related field trips and activities. Members will also be able to continue their membership in college if they choose to.
Purpose - The purpose of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the Spanish language and to increase the knowledge and appreciation for the cultural contributions of the Spanish speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage Spanish cultural activities.

LSHS Lions Cheer Clinic & Tryouts are right around the corner! We will be hosting a Parent & Information Meeting on March 6th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Media Center. This meeting will provide valuable insights into the LSHS Cheer program, and there will be a Q&A session to answer any questions you may have. Following the meeting, we are excited to offer a 3-Day Cheer Clinic on March 31st, April 1st, and April 2nd. This clinic will help you learn new skills and get ready for tryouts. We can't wait to see all the future cheerleaders there! Go Lions! Physicals are mandatory before clinic & tryouts. Aerospace Engineering Summer Camps at Kennesaw State University Kennesaw State University is planning two Aerospace Engineering Camps: CAMP 1: JUNE 16-20, 2025 and
CAMP 2: JULY 14-18, 2025.
The Aerospace Engineering Summer Camps are offered by the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Kennesaw State University. These camps are designed for middle and high school students. The mission of the camps is to provide practical hands-on knowledge to future engineers. They provide a platform for students to explore and understand the basics of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), with emphasis on Aerospace Engineering and Technology. During the camps, students get to experience and learn theory by exciting real-world applications. The camp includes design, build, and fly competitions, Computer Aided Design (CAD), flight simulations, rocket build and launch competitions, drone design, flight demonstrations and lots more. UWG HACKATHON: CODING FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY - A Hackathon is an event where teams of students design and implement software within a very short time-frame. Participants do not need to have mastered technical skills, like programming, before the hackathon. They can learn from each other and from mentors at the event. The event is Tuesday, March 18, 2025 (Technology Learning Center on UWG's Carrollton Campus) from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Cost: $10 per participant.

Congratulations to STEM student, Domani Weems!! He has been named semifinalists in the National Beta Scholarship Program! As a semifinalist, he has placed among the top 100 of over 3,500 applicants, and is guaranteed to receive at least $1,000 from the National Beta Scholarship Program. He will also have the opportunity to vie for one of the top 5 awards ($20,000, $15,000, $10,000, $8,000, $6,000 or one of five $2,500) by completing phase 2 of the application process. This is a great honor Domani. We know you will excel. Your LSHS family commends you on your achievement.


The Lovely Ladies of Lionessence will be hosting auditions on February 27th, March 4th, and March 6th promptly after school until 7PM. Be on the lookout for those flyers and be sure to scan the QR code to register. You must have a 2.8 GPA, and a sports physical to try out. Attire is all black. No crop tops or short shorts are allowed! You must attend all three days in order to be eligible for final auditions on Saturday, March 11th, 10AM-12PM. We want to congratulate STEM student, Kingston Vastine on being selected as the Star Student! Kingston is a senior with a passion for computer science, and his dedication to his studies is truly remarkable. He’s already set his sights on the future, as he’s committed to attending Georgia Institute of Technology to major in Software Engineering, with plans to one day become a security system engineer.
He appreciates the STEM program's challenging classes and the strong relationships he has built with students and staff. A special shout-out goes to Ms. Carr for encouraging Kingston to continuously push himself to be better.
In his free time, Kingston enjoys working on robotics projects and loves cooking. One of his most memorable moments was the 2023 First Robotics competition, where the team faced tough challenges but persevered to keep competing. With a GPA of 3.73, Kingston’s dedication to his studies and future career is truly inspiring. Congratulations again, Kingston!
